Terms of service
Last updated: 26 September 2026 · Version 2.1
The short version
- A parent or guardian aged 18 or over holds the account. Children use it through a profile the parent creates and can see.
- The helper is a computer program, not a person. It gives hints, not answers. It can make mistakes. You can read every conversation and switch it off.
- Lessons are written by AI. Review by a qualified teacher is being set up and is not in place yet, so please treat every lesson as an AI draft and use it alongside school.
- You can cancel at any time in your account. Within 14 days of first paying you get a full refund less the days you used. After that, you keep access to the end of the period you paid for.
- You get a receipt after every payment and can turn renewal off in Settings in one step. Reminder emails before each renewal are on the beta list.
- WonderPath is in public beta. We name what is unfinished on the Beta page. Nothing in beta reduces your legal rights.
- Your child's data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you, the parent or legal guardian who creates the account ("you", "the parent"), and Clove9 (the trading name of Prem Dev, sole trader, until WonderPath is incorporated), whose business address is Office 128, 18 Young Street, Unit LGE, Edinburgh, EH2 4JB, Scotland, United Kingdom ("we", "us", "WonderPath"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the Beta Notice. If you do not agree, please do not create an account.
1. Who can open an account
- You must be at least 18 and have parental responsibility for each child you add.
- Children never register themselves. A child uses WonderPath only through a profile you create, under your account, and with your supervision. Children aged 4 to 6 should use it with an adult present.
- You are responsible for keeping your password private and for activity under your account, except where that activity results from our fault.
2. What WonderPath is
WonderPath is a learning companion for children aged 4 to 11 that sits alongside school. It provides lessons and practice mapped to the National Curriculum for England (the EYFS statutory framework for Reception), a helper that responds to your child's work with hints, progress records, and reports for you. It is not a school, a tutor, an assessment body or a substitute for teaching. We do not claim that using WonderPath will produce a particular grade or outcome.
3. The AI helper
- It is a computer program. The helper (and any named subject guide) is generated by artificial intelligence. It is not a person, it has no feelings, and it will say so if asked. It is not designed to be a friend or companion.
- Hints first. In quizzes and practice, help comes as a prompt, then a similar example, then a look at your child's own step, and the answer is not shown mid-quiz. The chat helper works the same way: it declines requests for the final answer to practice, quiz or homework questions and does not write a child's work for them. We record requests for the answer so your weekly report can show them.
- It can be wrong. The helper can make factual, spelling and arithmetic errors, and can misunderstand a question. Please treat it as a patient study partner, not an authority, and tell us when it is wrong.
- Safety layers. Every message from your child and every reply is checked by automated moderation before and after the helper responds. Off-limits topics are refused with a child-friendly message and logged. Full details are in the AI Safety Policy.
- You can see everything. Every conversation is stored in your account and visible to you. You can switch the helper off for any child at any time in that child's settings.
- Limits. Each child can send up to 30 helper messages a day. Sessions include break prompts. These limits exist to protect children and our costs; they are not a fault.
- Not advice. The helper does not give medical, legal, safety, mental health or personal advice. If a child seems upset, it tells them to speak to a grown-up and, where appropriate, gives the Childline number.
4. Lessons
- Lessons are written by AI, mapped to the National Curriculum for England. Review by a qualified teacher is being set up and is not in place yet. We have a ten-point teacher rubric and a review tool, and we will start with the launch subjects (Maths, English, Reading, Phonics, Science, Computing). Until a lesson has a recorded teacher review, please treat it as an AI draft, use it alongside your child's school work, and tell us about anything wrong. We will show on the Beta page how many lessons have been reviewed once the first are recorded.
- Content is mapped to the National Curriculum for England. We do not claim full coverage of every objective, and an objective-by-objective map is on the beta list.
- If you find an error, tell us at info@wonderpath.co.uk. We will look at it within 2 working days and correct or withdraw the lesson.
5. Plans, prices and payment
- The Free plan costs nothing and does not convert to a paid plan by itself. Paid plans (Student, Family, Family Plus) are monthly subscriptions at the price shown on the Pricing page at the time you subscribe, including VAT where it applies.
- Before you pay we show you the price, how often it is charged, that it renews until cancelled, and how to cancel. You confirm this by an unticked box that you tick yourself.
- Payments on the website are taken by Stripe. If you subscribe through an app store, that store's billing and refund rules apply to the payment and we will tell you where to cancel.
- We may change a price only for a good reason (for example our own costs or tax changes). We will email you at least 30 days before a change takes effect, and you may cancel before it does with no charge. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
6. Renewal, reminders and cancelling
- Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel. Stripe emails you a receipt after each payment. Settings shows your renewal date. Reminder emails before each renewal are on the beta list and will be sent as standard once live.
- You can cancel at any time from Settings in your account, in the same place you subscribed, without contacting us. Cancelling stops the next payment. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- You can turn automatic renewal off with one action in your account.
7. Your right to cancel within 14 days, and refunds
- Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from the day you first pay for a plan to cancel for any reason.
- Because you asked us to start the service straight away, if you cancel inside those 14 days we refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the days you had access. We do not ask you to give up this right in exchange for access.
- To cancel within the 14 days and claim the refund, email info@wonderpath.co.uk with your account email and the words "I cancel". You may also use the model cancellation form at the end of these Terms. We refund within 14 days of your notice to the payment method you used.
- If we remove or materially reduce a feature you paid for, you may cancel and we refund the unused part of the period.
- If the service does not do what we say it does, you have the remedies in section 10, whatever these refund terms say.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to, and will make sure no child or invited member of your Circle does any of the following:
- Try to make the helper produce unsafe, adult, violent, hateful or otherwise inappropriate content. Such attempts are refused and recorded, and we may switch the helper off for that profile.
- Enter another person's personal data, or a child's full name, address, school or photograph, into the helper or a journal.
- Share an account outside your household, or resell, copy, scrape or republish lessons or the service.
- Interfere with the security or operation of the service.
9. Safeguarding
- We have a named designated safeguarding lead and a written Safeguarding Policy.
- If a message from a child suggests they may be at risk of harm, the helper tells them to speak to a trusted adult, the message is recorded as a safety event, and our designated safeguarding lead reviews it on the next working day. Where we reasonably believe a child is at risk of significant harm we will contact the relevant local authority or the police, and we will tell you unless doing so would increase the risk to the child.
- There is no child-to-child messaging, no public profiles and no way for anyone outside your Circle to contact your child through WonderPath.
- To report a concern: info@wonderpath.co.uk, subject "Safeguarding concern". We acknowledge within 24 hours and respond substantively within 5 working days. If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police straight away.
10. Your consumer rights and our responsibility
- Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described, and services must be carried out with reasonable care and skill. If they are not, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement, a repeat performance or a price reduction, and nothing in these Terms takes those rights away.
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses, because WonderPath is for family use.
- Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for breach of your rights under sections 34 to 37, 41 and 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.
- Subject to the two points above, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and £100.
- These Terms contain no blanket disclaimer of quality; if any earlier version did, it no longer applies.
11. Public beta
WonderPath is in public beta. That means some features are new, lessons are AI-written and teacher review is still being set up, and we release improvements often. The Beta Notice names the specific limitations we know about, so that you can decide with your eyes open. The beta label changes what you should expect of the unfinished parts we have named. It does not change the safety measures, the safeguarding process, how we handle data, the accuracy of billing, your right to cancel, or any of your rights in section 10.
12. Your content and ours
- Your child's work (journal entries, drawings, answers, explanations) belongs to your family. You give us a limited licence to store and process it only to run the service for you. We never use it to train AI models and never share it with other families.
- WonderPath's name, marks, design, software and lessons belong to us or our licensors. Lessons are licensed to your family for personal use. National Curriculum text we quote is Crown copyright, used under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
13. Invited members ("Circles")
- You may invite a limited number of family members or a teacher to view a child's progress. You remain responsible for whom you invite and can remove them at any time.
- Invited members may not copy, screenshot or share a child's work or conversations outside the Circle.
14. Privacy, complaints and your data
- How we use personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy, Parent Consent Policy and Data Retention Policy.
- You can export or delete your family's data from your account. Deletion completes within 30 days.
- If you have a complaint about how we handle personal data, email info@wonderpath.co.uk with the subject "Data protection complaint". We acknowledge within 30 days and respond without undue delay. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
15. Changes to the service and to these Terms
- We may add or improve features at any time. We may change or remove a feature to comply with law, to protect children or security, or to improve the service. If a change materially reduces something you have paid for, section 7 applies and you may cancel with a refund of the unused period.
- We may change these Terms for a good reason (a change in law, a new feature, or to make them clearer). We will email you and show a notice in your account at least 14 days before a material change takes effect. If you do not accept it you may cancel before it takes effect and we refund any unused period. Where a change materially affects how a child's data is processed we ask you to consent again before that feature continues.
16. Ending the agreement
- You may delete any child's profile and data from that child's settings. To close the whole account, email us with the subject "Close my account"; we confirm within 2 working days and complete it within 30 days, as described in the Data Retention Policy.
- We may suspend or close an account where you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, where the account is used in a way that endangers a child, or where the law requires. Unless safety or a legal investigation prevents it, we give reasonable notice and refund any unused period you have paid for.
17. App stores
If you install WonderPath from the Apple App Store or Google Play, that store's terms also apply to the download and to any purchase made through the store. Refunds for purchases made through a store are handled by the store under its rules, and cancellation of a store subscription is done in your store account. Our commitments about safety, content and data are the same whichever way you use WonderPath.
18. Governing law and where you can bring a claim
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland you may bring a claim in the Scottish courts and rely on Scots consumer law; if you live in Northern Ireland, the same applies for Northern Ireland. If you live in the European Union you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country. Before going to court, please write to us; most problems are solved by email within a week.
